An AI agent on your site is almost never browsing for its own sake. It's there because a human asked a question, and the agent is gathering what it needs to answer. - Be complete. Gaps get filled by inference, and inference is where you lose. If no page states who you're for, the agent guesses, and a guess rarely flatters you.
- Answer the comparison directly. Buyers ask agents "[you] vs [competitor]." If you've written that comparison honestly, the agent has a real source. If you haven't, it assembles one from third-party pages you don't control.
- Be consistent off-site. Agents weight G2, Capterra, Reddit, and review sites heavily. Stale third-party data quietly overrides your own pages.

Job 2: Capture the intent the agent carries
Here's the asset almost everyone leaves on the floor. When an agent comes to your site with a question, that question is pure buyer intent. Job 3: Serve agents and humans differently, without cloaking
"Can I serve different content to AI crawlers versus human visitors?" The honest answer: yes, and you should, as long as you understand the line.
Cloaking, the thing Google penalizes, is showing crawlers different claims than humans, to game rankings. Different price, different promises, deception. Don't do that. It's a real risk and a bad idea.
Serving agents richer content than a human page renders is not cloaking either, as long as it's true and consistent. An agent is a different kind of client. It wants clean, structured, parseable facts and direct answers, not a hero image and a story arc.
